At De Jong Plant, we believe it is important to match the plant’s natural process as much as possible. That means that we do not use extra lighting or heating, preferring peaceful and natural growth instead. This gives the plant enough time to develop into a strong plant. In several areas, we continue to make steps to grow our beautiful products as sustainably as possible.
Water
Our irrigation water is 100% recirculated, both in the greenhouses and on the fields.
Lighting
We do not use lighting or heating in our cultivation.
Soil
We are conducting research to further reduce peat in our potting soil. We only use RPP - Responsibly Produced Peat and 50% alternative raw materials in the substrate.
Biological pest control
By using green plant enhancers and biological control, the use of chemical crop protection is minimised.
Our growing container
Our growing container is made of 100% recycled material and is 100% recyclable.
Our labels
Our labels are made of 100% recyclable material and are 100% reclycable.
Our certification
​​Needless to say, we are MPS A, MPS Gap and MPS SQ certified, which means we comply with the requirements set for the horticultural sector in terms of safety, labour standards and the environment. In addition, we are continuously taking steps to grow our beautiful products as sustainably as possible.
